Drug dealer gets 6-month jail in Araihajar

A mobile court led by Upazila Nirbahi Officer Nahidur Rahman in Araihajar Upazila of Narayanganj district has sentenced a drug dealer named Kamruzzaman Bhuiya alias Mukul (51) to 6 months without labor imprisonment.
This sentence was handed down on Thursday afternoon in Vijayanagar Darigao village of Uchitpura Union of the upazila during a raid on the sale of drugs. Convicted drug dealer Mukul is the son of Alauddin Bhuya of that village.
District Narcotics Control Directorate inspector Md Khorshed Alam said that Mukul had been consuming and selling yaba for a long time. He has been arrested several times before. After being released, he started selling drugs again.
On the day of the incident, under the leadership of Upazila Nirbahi Officer Nahidur Rahman, a raid was conducted in Vijay Nagar village. During the raid, he was found guilty of selling and consuming drugs and was sentenced to 6 months without labor and 200 taka fine.
During the operation, Police Station Police, Narcotics Control Directorate Deputy Inspector Ataur Rahman Sajib and other officials were present.
