A Climate Resilience Activists Group (CRAG) has been formed in Satkhira to empower climate migrants and at-risk communities by enhancing their access to public resources, services, and policy influence for resilience building.

The event was held on Saturday at the Mangrove Meeting Room in Satkhira Sadar.

Organizers stated that the initiative aims to create a platform for vulnerable communities affected by climate change, ensuring their voices are heard in policymaking processes. The group will work to strengthen resilience at the grassroots level by raising awareness, improving access to essential services, and fostering stronger connections with both government and non-government stakeholders.

Speakers at the event emphasized that coastal districts like Satkhira are on the frontline of climate change impacts. Rising salinity, frequent flooding, and displacement are disrupting livelihoods and threatening the future of local communities. In this context, forming CRAG is a timely step towards mobilizing community leadership and advancing climate justice.

They expressed hope that CRAG will play a crucial role in amplifying the voices of the climate-affected population and influencing long-term adaptation strategies.
