At least three people, including a newly married couple, committed suicide by hanging themselves on the same day in Bhaluka Upazila in Mymensingh.

The police have recovered the three bodies from Dubaliapara and Kashar areas of Baluka between 6:30 and 7 pm on Wednesday evening.
The deceased were identified as Mofizur Rahman Sagar (25), son of Abdur Rashid of Ghagragachhi village in Dinajpur, and his wife Rehena Akhter Nupur (19), daughter of Dukhu Mia of Imdadpur area of Madan upazila in Netrokona.

Another deceased was identified as Sonali Akhter (17), Daughter of Abul Hossain in Char Sholakia of Kishoreganj.

Locals and police sources, a worker of Advance Mill named Sonali Akhter (17) committed suicide by hanging himself with a veil around his neck from Joynal's rented house in Choto Kashar area of Habirbari union of Bhaluka on wednesday evening at 6:30 pm . Later, on receiving information, Bhaluka Model Police Station recovered the body.

Soon after the body was recovered, the police received news of the death of a husband and wife in a rented house of Hekmat Mandar in Dubalia Para of Habirbari, neighboring the same union. They recovered the bodies of Rehena Akhter Nupur, a swing operator of local Crown Wires Ltd., and her husband, a cutting helper of the same factory, Mofizur Rahman Sagar, hanging from the ceiling fan in the second floor room of the house with the same veil.

Bhaluka Model Police Station OC (Investigation) Md. Humayun Kabir confirmed the recovery of the bodies. The deceased lived in rented houses and worked in local factories.

Sonali Akhter's hanging body was recovered from Kashar area on Wednesday evening. He said that Sonali committed suicide after being disrespected by her husband.

Later, the hanging bodies of Sagar and Nupur were recovered from Dubaliapara area. But the reason for their suicide is not yet known. Upon receiving the news of the incident, Additional SP in Gafargaon Circle , Afroza Nazneen visited the scene. At that time, she said that the reason for the incidents will be investigated and informed.

The legal process to send the bodies to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital (MMCH) mourge for autopsy.
