Building a livable healthy society is easier through creating readers, said Begum Khaleda Zia's Advisor Habibur Rahman Habib.
He made this comment as the chief guest at the inauguration and discussion meeting of the day-long Reader's Fair at Muladuli Muktomancha, Ishwardi on Friday.
Earlier in the morning, renowned poet and literary figure Latif Joarder inaugurated Bangladesh's first reader's fair and one-day book fair in Fitaket. Presided over by lecturer and literary figure Nazrul Islam Mukul, the event was attended by Principal Tughlaq Hossain, Advisor to the Readers' Fair Implementation Committee, President of Iswardi Upazila Press Club and Central Organizing Secretary of the National Journalists Society Towhid Akhter Panna, BNP leaders Abdur Razzak, Enamul Haque, Firozul Haque, Aminur Rahman, General Secretary of the Readers' Fair Implementation Committee Chanchal Mahmud and eminent writers and poets from different parts of the country. Five poets including writer Mosharraf Hossain Musa were honoured at the event. Dance and painting competitions were held.
