Coast Guard detained two smugglers with huge quantity of Indian sarees in N'ganj

Bangladesh Coast Guard has detained two smugglers with a huge quantity of Indian sarees worth about Tk 85 lakh  who were smuggled in through customs and tax evasion in Fatulla, Narayanganj.
 
This information was given by Coast Guard Media Officer Lieutenant Commander Siam-ul-Haq on Tuesday morning. 
 
The press release  said, based on a secret information, a special operation was conducted by Coast Guard Station Pagla at 3 am on Monday, the 13th, in the area adjacent to Kutubpur Pagla Bazar under Fatullah Police Station in Narayanganj. During the operation, a suspicious truck was searched in the area and 620 pieces of Indian sarees worth about 85 lakh 59 thousand taka and two smugglers were arrested along with the truck, which was illegally evading customs duties.
 
The seized goods were handed over to Bangshal Circle Customs, the truck used in the smuggling operation, and the arrested smugglers to Fatullah Police Station for further legal action.
