Clashes over football game in Narail : One killed, additional police deployed

Clashes over football game in Kalia, Narail left one killed and additional police have been deployed in the area.
A man named Zillur Sardar (55) was killed by a local weapon during a clash over a football match in Kalia Upazila of Narail. The incident took place at Kulsur village in the upazila at 6:30 pm on Friday.
The man died of his injuries that night.
The deceased, Zillur Sardar, was the son of the late Hashem Sardar of Kulsur village in the upazila.
According to police and local sources, a football match was held between Babupur and Kulsur villages at the Ekhlas Uddin Ahmed Secondary School ground in Kulsur village on Friday afternoon. During the match, a clash broke out between players and supporters of both sides. Later in the evening, Babupur team supporters went to the house of his cousin Mujibur Sardar of Kulsur village and hacked him to death with country-made weapons. Later, the injured Zillur Sardar was rescued and taken first to Kalia Upazila Health Complex and later to Khulna Medical College Hospital, where he died.
In this regard, Abdullah Al Mamun, OC of Kalia Police Station, said, "Upon receiving information about the clash, the police went to the spot and brought the situation under control. Efforts are underway to arrest those involved in the incident. Additional police have been deployed in the area. The situation in the area is currently normal."
