Chunarughat (Habiganj) Correspondent

The bi-annual executive committee of Chunarughat Press Club has been announced.

The history and tradition of Chunarughat Press Club, established in 1981, have been maintained by the working journalists of Chunarughat.

After the resignation of former president Jamal Hossain at the annual general meeting held on December 26-24, the convening committee was formed.

A 5-member committee was formed with Alamgir Mia, Senior Reporter of Daily Jugantor, as the Convener.

With the overall cooperation of the convening committee, the introduction ceremony was held in front of Chunarughat Press Club on Saturda.

Convener Alamgir Mia presided over the meeting and former chairman of Chunarughat Upazila Parishad Alhaj Syed Liaqat Hasan was present as the chief guest.

Former Mayor of Chunarughat Municipal Council Nazim Uddin Shamsu, PP Adv Md. Abdul Hai of Habiganj Judge Court, eminent social worker MA Malek Jepani, Deputy Commissioner Mozammel Haque Talukder, Chunarughat Police Station Officer-in-Charge Nur Alam, former President of Press Club Kamrul Islam, Jamal Hossain Liton, former General Secretary Jahangir Alam, BNP leader Shamsul Haque Talukder, Upazila Jubo Dal Convener Adv Mozammel Haque, Member Secretary Lutfur Rahman Jalal, Joint Convener Shafiq Mia, Upazila Retired Army Welfare Association President Nurul Islam Tota, BNP Jubo Dal and leaders of various social organizations spoke as special guests.

Mayor Nazim Uddin Shamsu announced the committee at the call of Convener Alamgir Mia.

The presidents are: Principal Faruk Uddin Chowdhury (Daily Tarafbarta), Senior Vice President Mahid Ahmed (Amader Somoy ), Vice President Ismail Hossain Bachchu (Rupali Bangladesh), General Secretary Md. Sajidul Islam (Amar Desh), Joint Secretary Khandaker Alauddin (Khola Kagoj), Organizing Secretary Md. Mizanur Rahman (Naya Diganta), Treasurer Mohammad Sumon Mia (Daily Tribunal), Office and Library Secretary Tofazzal Mia (Daily Bijoyer Pratidhoni), Publicity and Publication Secretary Md. Shahjahan Mia (Dhaka Times), Sports and Cultural Secretary Mizanur Rahman Ujjwal (Mukta Khabar).

An 18-member committee was formed with executive members Md. Alamgir Mia (dainik Jugantor), Alhaj Kamrul Islam (Ittefaq), Jamal Hossain Liton (Zayzaydin), Junaid Ahmed (Bhorer Kagoj), Md. Jahangir Alam (Kaler Konth), Nur Uddin Sumon (Samakal), Sheikh Harunur Rashid (dainik Sangram) and Raihan Ahmed (Dainik Bangla) as members.
