Chuadanga freed from Pak invaders on Dec 7

Today 7th December is Chuadanga Pak Invader Freedom Day. On this day in 1971, Chuadanga district bordering India was freed from invaders. On this day, in the face of fierce resistance from the freedom fighters and the Indian allied forces, after a bloody battle, the Pak forces left Chuadanga and fled towards the neighboring districts of Kushtia and Jhenaidah. Chuadanga was freed from invaders.

Chuadanga's contribution to the Great Liberation War is unforgettable. Chuadanga was designated as the first capital. The date is also fixed on April 10. As the news became public in advance, for strategic reasons the first capital was built at Baidyanath Tala in Meherpur district on April 17 and the government in exile was sworn in.

On November 26, 1971, the Pakistani forces fell in Jibannagar town of the district, but the final victory came on December 4. In the early hours of this day, under the command of Major Dutta and Burma, commander of the Indian allied forces, and Captain Mostafizur Rahman, commander of Sector 8, Banpur sub-sector, the freedom fighters and allied forces jointly entered from India through the Dhopakhali border of Jibannagar and attacked the Pak forces stationed in Jibannagar, Dattanagar, Hasadah Santoshpur, Rajapur, Dhopakhali and Madhavakhali. Jumped on suddenly. A bloody battle ensued.

At this time, Habildar Abdul Gafur, Naik Abdul Malek, Abdur Rashid, Sepoy Siddique Ali, Abdul Aziz and Abu Bakr were martyred in a face-to-face battle on the border of Rajapur and Madhavkhali. In the battle, the soldiers of 29 Baloch regiment of the Pakistani army were defeated by the joint forces and fled towards the neighboring district of Jhenaidah. On the other hand, freedom fighters and allied forces started guerilla attacks on Pak forces through Darshana and Damurhuda areas of the district.

As a result, Chuadanga district was completely cleared of the enemy. Then on the evening of December 6, Pak forces blew up a part of the Mathabhanga river bridge facing Chuadanga city by detonating a powerful bomb. So that the freedom fighters cannot follow them. In the evening of December 7, the Pak army crossed the town of Chuadanga and Alamdanga and moved towards Kushtia. Then on this day in 1971, Chuadanga district was completely freed from the enemy. On this day, spontaneous freedom fighters raised the red-green flag of independent Bengal for the first time on the ground of Chuadanga. Administrative action begins. Civil administration was introduced here by making Mustafa Anwar the Sub-Divisional Administrator.

After 9 months of bloody struggle, Chuadanga was liberated by the brave freedom fighters of the district on 7th December 1971. Total freedom fighters in Chuadanga are 1 thousand 631 people. Among them, 156 people were killed. 17 freedom fighters were martyred in this battlefield. There are also two heroic symbols in this district. The brave fight of these sun children of Chuadanga with the Pakistani forces in the great war of independence made Chuadanga glorious.

Because of this, Chuadanga district's illustrious position in the context of national pride is recognized in history. Various political, social and cultural organizations including the Chuadanga district administration, police administration, Mukti Jodha Sangsad have organized various programs on the occasion of this day.
