A child named Raihan Mia (6) was killed after being hit by an autobike in Sadullapur upazila of Gaibandha.
The accident occurred on the Sadullapur-Dhaperhat road around noon on Friday.
The deceased Raihan is the son of Zahidul Islam and Ashura Begum of Sadullapur village of Bongram union in the upazila.
According to relatives, Raihan was going to buy biscuits at a local grocery store with ten taka from his father. He was scared when he saw a cow on the way and ran towards the road when a speeding autobike ran over him. Locals rescued him in serious condition and took him to the hospital, where the doctor on duty declared him dead.
Bongram Union Parishad Chairman Fazlul Kayem Huda said, he arrived at the scene after receiving the news. However, no charges have been filed against anyone in this incident.
