Calves distrubuted among fishermen in Dohar

Under the Hilsa Resource Development and Fisheries Management Project, calves were distributed among registered marginal fishermen in Dohar Upazila at the initiative of the Fisheries Department on Wednesday noon.
A distribution program of 24 calves was held among 24 fishermen selected from among the registered fishermen at the Upazila Fisheries Office premises.
Dohar UNO Tania Tabassum inaugurated the calf distribution program. At this time, she said that the fishermen of the upazila have been distributed by the government so that they can earn money through alternative employment and manage their families during the government-announced ban period.
The distribution ceremony was chaired by UNO Tania Tabassum and it was was attended by Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) Tasfiq Sibgat Ullah, Dohar Police Station OC Md. Rezaul Karim, Upazila Fisheries Officer Shirin Sultana Munni, Upazila Assistant Fisheries Officer Md. Rafiqul Islam and fisherman leader Md. Ramzan Molla.
