BRAC WASH program held in Mirzaganj

An initial awareness meeting was held in Mirzaganj Upazila of Patuakhali under the Increase Access to Improved Water Sanitation and Hygiene Service in School Access Bangladesh Water Sanitation and Hygiene Project of non-governmental development organization BRAC to work on safe water sanitation and hygiene in seven secondary schools and madrasas in the upazila by 2025.
The meeting was held at 10 am on Wednesday in the meeting room of the upazila administration.
UNO Md. Tariqul Islam was present as the chief guest.
Upazila Secondary Education Officer Md. Shahidul Islam, Public Health Engineer Officer Md. Aminul Islam BRAC WASH Program Patuakhali District Manager Md. Sultan Uddin, Deputy Manager Technical Md. Hasan Talukder, Technical Officer Sufal Mistry and Program Organizer Md. Abdullah Mamun along with NGO officials were present.
Heads of secondary schools and madrasas of the upazila, officials of the upazila administration and officials involved in the project were present at the time.
Patuakhali District Manager of BRAC WASH Program Md. Sultan Uddin said that under this project, 5 secondary schools in Mirzaganj Upazila were provided with pure water system and health assistance to students last year. He said that such activities of BRAC are ongoing in 12 countries of the world.
