Bhola interacts with civil society to form disability rights advocacy platform

Planning and brainstorming meetings were held with civil society personalities and media workers to form a Disability Rights Advocacy Platform at Bhola.

On Saturday morning at 10 o'clock, an exchange meeting was held in the hall of the disabled community center under the chairmanship of Chinui Talukder, project director of the disabled community center.

While four dignitaries were supposed to be present in it, about eight dignitaries were present, six including school teachers, teachers, eight journalists, one member of the Union Disaster Management, one member of the local protection committee, and various trainees of Kachia Union to inform about the rights of the disabled.

Was present Project Director Chinui Talukdar first said that the operation of this project started on July 1, 2021 and that the project will continue till the next year 2030. He also said that we first started the program from Kachia Union with 285 disabled people inside. Hopefully, this program will continue step by step in 13 unions of Bhola one by one.

After greeting everyone one by one, Chinui Talukdar first informed the trainees by discussing about the rights of the disabled. Secondly, he informed about the awareness about the rights and protection of persons with disabilities enacted by the government of Bangladesh. Third, the United Nations provides a clear understanding of the rights of persons with disabilities.

Finally, the trainees were informed about the rights of the disabled and the society, the state, and our duties towards them, then they stood up one by one and took their opinions.
