Bangladesh embassy in Paris launches e-passport service for expatriates

NRB Desk

The Bangladesh embassy in Paris has officially launched an e-passport service for Bangladeshi expatriates living in France.

The service was launched during a programme at the embassy in Paris on Sunday.

Bangladesh Ambassador to France Khondkar M Talha inaugurated the service by accepting e-passport applications from expatriates Jahangir Hossain and Moshtaq Baig in person.

First Secretary (political) and Head of Chancery Md Walid Bin Quashem, E-passport Project Director Brig Gen Muhammad Nurus Salam, and MA Taher, the general secretary of France BNP were also present at the event.

Taher highlighted that nearly a million Bangladeshis were living in France.

“They had long demanded e-passport services at the Paris embassy like in other countries. But for unknown reasons, it was never done.”

The development comes in response to growing pressure from the expatriate communities and organisations that had long lobbied for e-passport services in France.
