Bangladesh, Uganda discuss on Visa Waiver Agreement

Bangladesh and Uganda have discussed on probability of signing of a Visa Waiver Agreement for holders of diplomatic and official passports of the nationals of both the countries.
The discussion was taken place when Uganda’s non-resident High Commissioner to Bangladesh Joyce Kakuramatsi Kikafunda paid a courtesy call on Foreign Affairs Adviser Md. Touhid Hossain at the foreign ministry here today, said a official press release.
During the meeting, the envoy congratulated the foreign adviser on his new role and reaffirmed Uganda's commitment to enhancing bilateral ties with Bangladesh.
The discussion focused on key areas of cooperation, including the regular holding of Foreign Office Consultations.
Both sides also explored opportunities for collaboration in agriculture, particularly through contract farming, and emphasized the importance of knowledge and technology sharing.
They further highlighted the need for agreements on the avoidance of double taxation and investment protection to promote bilateral trade.
The foreign adviser noted Bangladesh's robust pharmaceutical industry as a potential supplier of high-quality, affordable products to Uganda.
Both parties agreed to encourage the exchange of trade delegations to boost economic cooperation between the two countries.
