Hundreds of local men and women held a human chain demanding exemplary punishment of Abdus Samad and his forces for the murder of innocent student Mobarak Hossain and false case against innocent villagers in Narayanganj.

At that time, the angry local residents staged a protest march and slandered the Samad forces.

On Tuesday at around 11 o'clock, the human chain and protest program was held on the Kaladi-Rupasi road in the Hatabo-Atlashpur area of the upazila.

Robel Bhuia, Ferdous Bari, Kaushar Bari, Hafez Aminul Islam, Jahangir Alam, Azahar Bhuia, Kabir Molla, Billal Hossain Molla, Sohrab Molla, Alamin Molla, Ali Mia, Nur Alam Bhuia, Monir Hossain Bhuia, Kiran Bhuia, spoke at the human chain. Mizan Mia and many others.

The speakers said that his forces including Abdus Samad of Atlashpur area have become reckless. Ever since the fall of the autocracy Sheikh Hasina's government on September 5, innocent villagers have been harassed by attacks and false cases.

On September 4, Salim Molla forces clashed with Samad forces over sand filling work. Due to past enmity in that incident, businessman Kaushar Ahmed Bhuiya and his father Aolad Hossain Bhuiya filed a false case against innocent villagers. On December 19, 1991, a college student of Atlashpur area, Mubarak Hossain, was thrown from a boat into Shitalakshya river and drowned by Abdus Samad and members of his forces, based on a land dispute. At that time, the influential Samad forces did not allow the case to be filed as it was innocent. Besides, the youth of Atlashpur area tried to kill Ali Noor with a sharp weapon.

The wife of Maqbul Hossain of the same area was physically tortured. Local residents are fed up with the torture of Samad forces. The speakers demanded immediate arrest of the members of this force including Abdus Samad and exemplary punishment and withdrawal of false cases filed against the innocent. Then he warned that the local people have a bigger agenda.

However, when Abdul Samad, the head of the Samad Army was contacted about this incident, he claimed that the allegations against him were completely false.

Zubair Hossain, Officer-in-Charge (OC/Investigation) of Rupganj Police Station, said that those who are not involved in the incident will not be harassed in the clash between the two sides over sand filling in Atlashpur area. Besides, if the complaint against Samad forces is received in writing, legal action will be taken after investigation.
