ASA to launch online school by 2027

Staff Reporter

The president of the non-governmental organization Association for Social Advancemeny (ASA) Md. Ariful Haque Chowdhury, announced plans to establish an online school for students by 2027, in addition to its ongoing field-level education programme.

He made the statement while speaking as the chief guest at the inauguration ceremony of the 5-day-long Officers’ Camp 2025 of ASA’s education program on Sunday.

The event was presided over by Md. Samiul Haque, Head of ASA Education Program. Sushil Kumar Roy, Advisor (Operations) of ASA, attended as a special guest.

Md. Ariful Haque Chowdhury stated, “We are currently working on a curriculum that follows the national curriculum, aiming to create a joyful learning environment and a flexible education system for students. An illustration can often convey more effectively than thousands of words. Complex topics should be taught in ways that allow students to grasp the content easily.”

He further added, “We aim to develop the curriculum and teaching methods in such a way that everyone becomes interested in our programs.”

In his speech, Sushil Kumar Roy, Advisor (Operations), said, “The education program began 13 years ago with two main goals: reducing dropout rates and ensuring quality education. Currently, we are investing approximately 1 billion BDT in education.”

Highlighting various aspects of education, he added, “From childhood, students need to be taught humanitarian values. Education should be presented attractively and joyfully. To achieve this, education assistants must be trained to be competent and skilled. Only then will ASA’s education program stand out as unique.”

It is noteworthy that ASA has been running its education program since 2011 with its own funding to improve the quality of primary and secondary education. Currently, through 15,750 learning centers across 64 districts, the ASA education program is providing educational support to approximately 650,000 underprivileged students.
