Keeping in mind the slogan "A drug and terrorism-free municipal area will be the people's", the Arafat Rahman Koko Memorial 8-team Football Tournament 2024 has been organized in Pirojpur.

The tournament was organized by Messrs. Zakia Construction and Messrs. Nushaiba Builders at the Pirojpur Government Boys' High School ground.

The overall management of the tournament was carried out by the former general secretary of Pirojpur District Chhatra Dal, MD Badiuzzaman Sheikh Rubel. The Arafat Rahman Koko Memorial Tournament was inaugurated by the organizing committee president Md. Aslam Sheikh and the leaders of Madhyarasta Jubo Sangha. 8 teams are scheduled to participate in the tournament.

The teams are Sharankhola Football Academy Bagerhat, Nurnavi Football Academy Jhalokati, Bhandaria XI, Zia Nagar XI, New Boys Sporting Club Pirojpur, Nazirpur Kriya Academy, Udayakati Youth Association, Douatala Football Academy Barguna. Sharankhola Football Academy Bagerhat vs Nurnavi Football Academy Jhalokati participated in the opening match.

Head of the organizing committee Md. Aslam Sheikh said, it is the commitment of Badiuzzaman Sheikh Rubel to the people that the municipal area will be free from drugs and terrorism. With this slogan, this football tournament has been organized in memory of Shaheed Zia's younger son, late Arafat Rahman Koko.

In this regard, former general secretary of Pirojpur District Chhatra Dal MD Badiuzzaman Sheikh Rubel said, the youth are the wealth of the country. They are the driving force of the society. Therefore, they must be kept away from drugs. To build a drug-free society, they must be brought to the playground. All concerned, including parents, must come forward to ensure that the youth of the country, including the Pirojpur municipal area, are not led astray.
