On August 6, the day after the fall of the Awami League government, Antarmor-Rakhalgachi Khiya Ghat of Goaland Upazila of Rajbari was captured.

Some local youth drove out the lessee of the ghat and took over. Local leaders claim that no one from BNP is involved in occupying the ghat. After receiving the complaint, the anti-discrimination students encouraged the tenant to collect the rent last Wednesday afternoon.

It is known that Bengal gave Ghat settlement to Bishna Chowdhury, son of professional Patni Bhagwan Chowdhury of North Char Pachuria village of Dakdhari Upazila for 30 Chaitras from the first Baisakh of 1431 AD.

Bishna Chowdhury said, "My paternal grandfather's ancestors were doing the business of Khiya Ghat in the Patni community. On August 6, the day after the change of government, several youths, including Minal, Leon, threw me out of the ghat. They came and said, "You have eaten for so long, now we will eat". Being a minority, I could not say anything in this country.

Trawler Majhi Rahman Kha said, the day after the change of government, 20-22 youths came and said, "We are the owner of the wharf from now on." Give us the money." They are taking one and a half thousand taka per day for a month. I could not do anything because the owner of the ghat was already chased away.

After receiving the news, the students of anti-discrimination student movement asked the occupiers to show the necessary documents related to the ghat on Wednesday afternoon. As he could not show, the lessee asked Bishna Chowdhury to collect the rent as before.

At that time, the students said that the students of the anti-discrimination student movement will stand in the way of injustice and irregularity.

Devgram Union BNP President Ismail Molya and Chhotabhakala Union BNP former General Secretary Himel Molya said that the occupants are not members of BNP. Former Vice Chairman of Upazila Parishad Asad Chowdhury has a group of local youth including Minal, Leon. I called them and tried to resolve it, but couldn't.

Referring to the complaint, Leone said that Bishna Chowdhury is evading the government's huge amount of revenue by leasing the ghat by managing the UP chairmen for nominal money. After the fall of the government, the A.League fled the country. Bishna Chowdhury also escaped on August 5. I am not involved in occupying the ghat. Legally we have applied to the District Commissioner to obtain the lease of the wharf.

Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Joti Bikas Chandra said, no one has given any complaint about the occupation of the ghat. However, some locals have applied to the Deputy Commissioner to get the lease of the ghat. The Deputy Commissioner asked to give an investigation report on the said application.
