After the announcement of the schedule of the upcoming 12th parliamentary elections, the leaders and activists of the ruling party Awami League and its affiliated organizations took out a joyous procession in Tongi.
The procession started from the party office of Awami League in New Bazaar area of Tongi on Wednesday evening.
At that time, the procession was attended by Gazipur 2 Constituency MP Youth and State Minister Zahid Ahsan Russel, former Joint General Secretary of Gazipur Metropolitan Awami League Matiur Rahman Moti, General Secretary of Metropolitan Volunteers (29 League) Billal Hossain, President of Metropolitan Chhatra League Moshiur Rahman Sarkar Babu, former Central Chhatra League Associate Editor Rezaul Karim, Tongi Purba Thana Chhatra League convener Shahzada Salim Liton, West Thana Chhatra League president Shafiq Talukdar, General Secretary Deen Mohammad Nirab, East Thana Chhatra League joint convener Ashraful Islam Tushar, Swapan Mridha, Mahmudul Hasan Shaheen, AB Siddique and thousands of leaders and activists were present.
The procession started from the party office and circled the important places on the Dhaka Mymensingh highway and ended at the party office.
