A section of journalists played role in the creation of fascism.

Bangladesh Federal Union of Journalists ( BFUJ) Secretary General Quader Gani Chowdhury has commented that journalists have been crushed in the journey of fascism.

He said that fascism arose from the day journalists became party slaves. There is no alternative to unity to hold on to the August 5 victory. We have to keep our eyes on such fascists not to be created in the future.

He said thid in the speech of the chief guest at the annual general meeting of Journalist Union Cox's Bazar on Friday noon.

In the chief guest's speech at this time, he also said, "There has been an opportunity for journalists to unite during the interim government." In the last 17 years, a section of the country's journalists has been crushed by the march of fascism. White could not be called white. Now this opportunity should be used to bring back objective journalism in the country.

He said, "During the past fascism, the investigative report of journalist Shagar-Rooney's murder case has been delayed 112 times. He hopes that it will be tried during the interim government. Besides, he thanked the current government for taking the initiative to cancel the anti-media freedom laws.

President of Dhaka Journalist Union Mohammad Shahidul Islam, President of Journalist Union Cox's Bazar GM Ashek Ullah, General Secretary Mostafa Sarwar, President of Cox's Bazar Press Club Mahbubur Rahman, General Secretary Mumtaz Uddin Bahari, Deputy Director of Labour Directorate Chittagong Sabbir Ahmed spoke as special guests in the meeting.
