3 Rohingya women detained by BGB in Kamalganj

BGB members arrested three Rohingya women from Dhalai border area of Madhavpur union bordering Kamalganj upazila in Moulvibazar and handed them over to the police on Friday afternoon.

The arrested Rohingyas are Minara Begum (20), husband-Syedul Amin, Ukhia Camp-14, Block-C-1, Formina Begum (20), father-Iqbal Ahmad, Camp-5, Block-B-1, Hamima Begum ( 20), son of Noor Alam, Camp-14, Block-B-3.

Police and locals said that 3 women and 4 men of Rohingya who escaped from Cox's Bazar Ukhia camp escaped from Ukhia camp in the early hours of last Thursday to go to India through the Dhalai border of Kamalganj.

On Friday at 10 am, 4 Rohingya men crossed the Dhalai border crossing but 3 female members were detained by BGB members.

On receiving the information, SI Mahadev Bachar of Kamalganj Police Station brought him to Kamalganj Police Station with the help of Force. Meanwhile, after crossing Bangladesh and entering India, four male Rohingyas were detained by the Indian Border Security Force (BSF), said SI Mahader Bachar.

Officer-in-charge of Kamalganj police station Sanjay Chakraborty said that the process of sending the arrested 3 Rohingya women back to the respective Rohingya camps is underway.
