Munshiganj (South) Correspondent 

Twenty  job seekers have been recruited as police constables for just 120 taka, without any lobbying or bribes. Based solely on physical fitness and merit, these candidates secured their positions. On Thursday, after the final interview, Munshiganj Superintendent of Police Muhammad Shamsul Alam Sarkar welcomed the newly appointed police constables with flowers.

Earlier, applications for the Trainee Recruit Constable (TRC) position were verified at the drill shed of the Munshiganj Police Lines. For the 20 available posts, 146 candidates participated in the written examination held on May 13. Out of them, 23 passed the viva (oral) examination. One candidate got a job in the army and was therefore absent. After further verification, 22 were initially declared successful — 20 of whom were selected for appointment, and 2 were kept on the waiting list. Among the 20 finally recruited, 18 are male and 2 are female.

It has been reported that most of the 20 newly recruited constables are children of day laborers and auto-rickshaw drivers. The results were announced in the presence of Munshiganj Superintendent of Police Muhammad Shamsul Alam Sarkar as the chief guest. Special guests included Additional Superintendent of Police (DSB) of Narayanganj District Israt Jahan and Assistant Superintendent of Police (Raipura Circle) of Narsingdi District Bayezid Bin Monsur. Also present were Additional Superintendent of Police (Administration and Finance) of Munshiganj District Mohammad Kazi Humayun Rashid, Additional Superintendent of Police (Sadar Circle) Md. Billal Hossain, and all levels of officers from the Munshiganj District Police.

During the congratulatory and briefing session, Superintendent of Police Muhammad Shamsul Alam Sarkar said, “You have reached this honorable position based on your physical ability and merit. Through honesty and dedication, you will further enhance the image of the Bangladesh Police. This is how a Smart Bangladesh will be built.”

Later, the Superintendent of Police welcomed the recruits with flowers. At that moment, a few newly appointed police members were overwhelmed with emotion and burst into tears.
