
‘Barishal Bani’ Family hosts dinner with orphans in Barishal

The ‘Barishal Bani’ family organized a dinner with nearly one hundred orphaned students. During the event, each child was encouraged with Rajnigandha flowers by the attending guests.
The program was arranged at Palashpur Rahmania Madrasa and Orphanage in the city on Friday night to celebrate crossing 100,000 likes/followers (members) on Barishal Bani’s Facebook page.
The event was conducted by Barishal Bani’s editor and publisher Md. Mamun-ur-Rashid. The chief guest was SEBAMEC’s Associate Professor (Retd.) Dr. S.M. Iqbalur Rahman Selim. Special guests included Barishal Bani’s advisor journalist Mamunur Rashid Nomani, poet Abdul Gaffar Khan, advisory editor Md. Harun-ur-Rashid, and literary figure Anishur Rahman Himu.
Also present were Barishal Bani’s joint secretary Foysal Khan, executive editor Aminul Shaheen, managing editor Parvez Sardar, news editor M. Saiful, chief news editor Shahidullah Sumon, staff reporters S.M. Selim, Juel Khan, Firoz Khan, and other working journalists.
During the discussion, speakers said that amidst many media outlets, Barishal Bani stands out for its truthful and unbiased reporting, earning readers’ trust. They highlighted the organization’s support for its staff, including Eid bonuses, cash assistance during COVID-19, and exemplary help during emergencies. Barishal Bani is also active in social work and uncompromising in reporting corruption. By practicing independent journalism outside political influence, Barishal Bani has set a milestone in the media arena. The speakers expressed hope that this tradition will continue for the benefit of the country and the public.
The program concluded with flower greetings, a discussion session, prayers, and the dinner with the orphans.
