We will bring country's press clubs under one umbrella by next Dec : NPC Secy Ayub Bhuiyan

National Press Club General Secretary Md. Ayub Bhuiyan said, 'We have started working to bring the press clubs of the mofussils under one umbrella. By next December, we are thinking of giving the presidents and secretaries  of the divisional press clubs the membership of the National Press Club as an ex-officio position.
 
 For this purpose, we have already talked to the leaders of Khulna, Sylhet, Rajshahi, Mymensingh press clubs. What remains is to talk to the leaders of Barisal and other divisional press clubs.' - He said these things as the chief guest at a reception organized by the press club at the Engineer Towhidur Rahman auditorium of Kalapara Press Club in Patuakhali  on Saturday noon.

In his speech as the chief guest, Ayub Bhuiyan, chaired by Press Club Vice President Biswas Shihab Parvez Mithu and moderated by Office Secretary Jasim Parvez, said, "We will later bring the press clubs of the district cities under one umbrella. To enhance the professional skills of the journalists of the sub-district, we will organize training in batches of 50 people on subject-based reporting in the sub-district itself. We are planning to construct a 10-storey building on the premises of the National Press Club so that the journalists of the sub-district can stay in the dormitory of the press club at a low cost when they go to Dhaka."

Speaking as a special guest, Dhaka Reporters Unity General Secretary Md. Mainul Hasan Sohel said, "We are demanding the government to form an investigation commission for an impartial investigation into all journalist torture incidents in the country, including the murder of journalist Tuhin in Gazipur. Besides, Sagar-Runi are members of Dhaka Reporters Unity. We have been protesting to demand justice for their murder from the beginning."

Former General Secretary of Dhaka Reporters Unity Md. Motahar Hossain Masum, senior journalists Mir Abdul Alem, Md. Shahabuddin Sikder, among others, spoke at the event.

At this time, former president of Kalapara Press Club Shamsul Alam, Md. Humayun Kabir, Mejbah Uddin Mannu, general secretary Amal Mukherjee, journalists Gofaran Palash, Chanchal Saha, Russell Kabir Murad, and SK Ranjan spoke, highlighting the risky aspects of district journalism.

Earlier, Kalapara Press Club General Secretary Amal Mukherjee welcomed the General Secretary of the National Press Club with a bouquet of flowers. At the same time, senior journalists of Kalapara Press Club taught the journalists coming from Dhaka the Uttariya.
