Morelganj (Bagerhat) Correspondent

A theft occurred at Barikhali Government Primary School (No. 107), located in Ward 1 of Morelganj Municipality in Bagerha on the night of April 13, thieves broke into the school office and stole a laptop, a video projector, and a school bell.

According to the head teacher, Md. Harun-or-Rashid Hawlader, after classes ended on April 10, teachers left the school premises around 4:30 PM. The office assistant-cum-night guard, Md. Liakat Ali Khan, was on leave on April 11 and 12.

On April 13, following a cultural program organized for Pahela Baishakh, both teachers and students left the school by noon.
Sometime during the night, the thieves climbed onto the roof on the east side of the school, cut the grill of the library window, and gained entry. They then entered the office room, took a 'Lenovo' laptop from the table, broke open a cabinet to steal a 'Hitachi' brand video projector, and also took a school bell.
The next morning, the guard unlocked the library and discovered the disarray inside, promptly informing the head teacher. The school authorities then notified the Upazila Education Officer and filed a written complaint with the Morelganj Police Station.

OC of Morelganj Police Station confirmed that the complaint had been received and an investigation is underway.
