Rohingya youth injured in landmine explosion inside Myanmar

A Rohingya youth named Rocky Alam (26) was seriously injured in a landmine explosion inside Myanmar at Pillar No. 35-36 adjacent to the Tumbru border in Naiksyangchhari upazila of Bandarban.  
 
The mine explosion occurred in the Medai area of Arakan State, Myanmar, around 12:30 noon on Sunday.

Locals said that on Sunday afternoon,  a landmine explosion occurred inside Myanmar at Pillar No. 35-36 adjacent to the Tumbru border. During this,  a Rohingya youth named Rocky Alam (26) was seriously injured. Later,  His relatives quickly took the injured Rocky Alam across the border to the Kutupalong area of Ukhia in Bangladesh and he was admitted to a private hospital. Currently, his physical condition is said to be critical.

Confirming the truth of the incident, 34 BGB commander Lt. Col. Khairul Alam said, the Rohingya youth was injured in a mine explosion inside Myanmar. Later, when he crossed the border and came to the other side, he was given the opportunity to receive medical treatment from a humanitarian perspective. He also said, there has been an increase in violence and mine explosions inside Myanmar in the border area recently. This puts the Rohingya, including the general public in the border area, at serious risk.

In this regard, Naikshongchhari Upazila Nirbahi Officer  Muhammad Mazharul Islam Chowdhury said, "We have heard news that a Rohingya youth was injured in a landmine explosion inside Myanmar at Pillar No. 35-36 of the Tumbru border. But the injured youth is not a resident of Bangladesh or the camp. Due to which we do not know the detailed information."


It is mentioned that in the past few months, there have been multiple mine explosions inside Myanmar along the border, causing deaths and injuries, causing ordinary people living in the border areas to live in fear.
