Jaldhaka journalist demand death penalty for those involved in journalist Tuhin murder

Journalists working in Jaldhaka have held a human chain and protest rally in Jaldhaka, Nilphamari, demanding the immediate arrest and exemplary punishment of those involved in the public slaughter and murder of journalist Asaduzzaman Tuhin in Gazipur, and the withdrawal of torture and false cases against journalists across the country.
 
At 12 noon on Saturday, an hour-long human chain and rally was held in front of the Press Club at Thana Mors, in protest of the murder of journalist Tuhin and demanding the speedy trial of the killers.
 
The human chain and rally was held under the chairmanship of Press Club President Alhaj Kamruzzaman.
 
 The meeting was addressed by Press Club General Secretary Shahjahan Kabir Lelin, former president Mahbubur Rahman Moni, journalist Faisal Murad, member secretary of the Volunteer Party Alamgir Hossain, District Correspondent of News 24 Rashidul Islam Shah, Joint Secretary of Press Club Maidul Hasan, Office Secretary Hasanuzzaman Siddique Hasan, General Secretary of Reporters Unity Harun Rashid, President of Riyadh Journalists Association Rabiul Islam Raj, Vice President of Bangladesh Press Club Jaldhakar Mahmudul Hasan, General Secretary of Reporters Club Tahmidar Rahman Milon, President of Legal Aid Center ASAK Al Amin, journalist Al Islam Bikalpak and other journalists. The speakers at the human bond and rally said that Asaduzzaman Tuhin, a staff reporter of the Daily Pratidin Kagoj newspaper, was brutally killed by terrorists at Joydebpur Chowrasta intersection in Gazipur shortly after going live at noon about the activities of local extortionists. They strongly condemned and protested this heinous incident.
 
 They also demanded that those involved in the incident be brought to justice quickly and given the maximum punishment. The speakers at the meeting also said that the way journalists are being hacked to death is very painful. At the same time, it is a threat to independent journalism. The speakers strongly condemned and protested against this murder and all the murders of journalists in the past days, and demanded that all the murderers of journalists, including journalist Tuhin, be arrested immediately and given exemplary punishment and hanged. The speakers said, "Journalists do not ask the state for salary, they only want security.
 
 Why is the state so hesitant to give it? The trial of Tuhin's murder must be completed quickly, so that there is no protracted process like the Sagar-Runi incident." The speakers also said that they demanded the trial of Tuhin's murder and the enactment of a law to protect journalists.
