Extortion complaint against Chhatra Dal leader in Rajarhat

A victim woman has filed a complaint with Rajarhat Police Station against Rajarhat Upazila Chhatra Dal Convener Rubel Patwari for demanding extortion of Tk 5 lakh.
According to the complaint source, Rubel Patwari and Mahmuda Begum, wife of Faruk Ali of the same village, had a family dispute. In the afternoon of July 7, Rubel Patwari (26), Sohel Patwari (23) and 20-25 unidentified persons attacked Mahmuda Begum's house, vandalized its tin fence and furniture and demanded extortion of 5 lakh taka. When they did not receive the money, they abused her obscenely and threatened her. That evening, Mahmuda Begum filed a complaint with Rajarhat Police Station as a plaintiff. It is worth noting that Mahmuda Begum's house is in Swarupchamaru village of Rajarhat Sadar Union of Rajarhat Upazila.
In this regard, accused Rubel Patwari said, Mahmuda Begum is my relative. After hearing the allegations of Mahmuda Begum having an affair with my sister-in-law, I went to talk to her. Later, Mahmuda Begum tried to divert the matter to frame me.
Rajarhat Police Station OC confirmed the matter.
