
Attack on Coca-Cola Warehouse , 4 arrested in N'ganj

Four young men have been arrested by police in Narayanganj for allegedly attempting to attack the warehouse of a Coca-Cola distributor and threatening to destroy all soft drinks stored there. The arrested individuals are Hamdad Sharif Rayan (24), Md. Zahir (30), Md. Riyad (27), and Md. Sujon (18) — all residents of the Muslimnagar area in the city.
The incident took place around midday on Tuesday in the Naluya Road are of Nitaiganj, Narayanganj.
According to reports, at around 11:45 AM, a group of 6 to 7 youths led by Zahid, also known as Zahir, entered the warehouse of “The Jamal & Company,” a local distributor for Bangladesh Beverage Ltd., the Coca-Cola bottler in Bangladesh.Zahid and his associates, including one Azmir Sheikh Sojal, identified themselves as followers of the "Tarique Zia Projonmo Dal" (a political youth group) under the Narayanganj metropolitan branch. They threatened the on-duty security personnel and employees, demanding the destruction of all Coca-Cola soft drinks stored in the warehouse, and attempted to carry out an attack.
Following the threats, representatives from The Jamal & Company informed the police. A team from the Narayanganj Sadar Model Police Station quickly arrived on the scene and detained four of the individuals involved — Hamdad Sharif Rayan, Md. Zahir, Md. Riyad, and Md. Sujon.
Confirming the incident, OC Mohammad Nasir Ahmed of the Narayanganj Sadar Model Police Station stated that it is not yet confirmed whether the detainees have any official political affiliation.
