434 sacks of fertilizer seized , Tk 50,000 fined in Gobindaganj

A mobile court led by the army has seized 434 sacks of fertilizer and imposed a fine of Tk 50,000 on fertilizer and pesticide shops in Gobindaganj, Gaibandha for selling fertilizer without permission, illegally storing it and not having purchase receipts.
 
 The mobile court's Executive Magistrate and Assistant Commissioner (Land) Md. Asaduzzaman conducted a raid led by the army in the Gobindaganj Municipal Bazar area on Tuesday.
 
According to the Upazila Agriculture Officer's office, the army conducted a raid on Messrs. Masud & Brothers, Messrs. Medina Traders, Geeta Sar Ghar, Shri Amarendra Narayan Chaki, Messrs. Janine Traders, Messrs. Rupali Sar Ghar, and Messrs. Pradhan Krishi Sambhar in Gobindaganj Municipal Market from 9 pm to 2 am on Tuesday. During the raid, 434 bags of fertilizer and 6,900 kg of paddy seeds were seized in various shops. Along with this, the accused traders were fined Tk 50,000 in a mobile court.
 
The raid was led by Major Md. Inzamamul Alam of Gaibandha Army Camp, Captain Md. Ikramul Haque, Upazila Agriculture Extension Officer Md. Hadisur Rahman, Warrant Officer Rakibul Alam and other army members participated in the raid.
 
Local farmers say that for a long time, fertilizer was being illegally stored in this area and sold at high prices and adulterated in seeds and sold to marginal farmers. Which became a risk factor in the production of agricultural products.
