‎Forest Department plants saplings on 7.50 acres of govt land in Mirzapur

‎‎Forest Department officials planted about four thousand saplings on seven and a half acres of government land reclaimed as a sal forest in Mirzapur. The reclaimed land is in Dantbhanga Chala village, located in the Kuripara Bit Office area under the Bashtoil Range Office of the upazila.
‎The upazila administration, joint forces and forest department officials conducted a drive in the area, recovered the occupied land and planted saplings on Monday morning. 
‎According to information, there was a gazari forest on the land. Influential people in the area had cut down the forest and planted banana saplings to occupy the land.
‎UNO A.B.M.  Ariful Islam, Assistant Conservator of Forests (Tangail South) Abusaleh, Bashtoil Range Officer Shahinur Rahman and others were present. 
‎Also present at the event were members of the army, police station members, forest officials of Ansar, Bashtoil, Hateya and Baheratoil Range Offices.
‎Mirzapur UNO A.B.M. Ariful Islam said that our campaign to free government land from encroachment will continue.
