Reunion of former students of traditional Savar Model College was held in a colourful arrangement with the slogan “Smriti Tane Priya Prangane” on Saturday.

The 1st reunion celebration of 30 years was held at Shahibagh college ground of Savar town area.

At the beginning of the day, at 10 am, a colorful rally of the former students and teachers was held with the hoisting of the national flag and the banner of the 1st Reunion with colorful balloons. The rally started from the college campus and circled the Champain Road of the municipal area and ended at the college campus.

At the end of the rally, the president of the governing body of the college and the former chairman of the chemistry department of Jahangirangan University, Professor DrIlyas Molla and Principal Md Tauhid Hossain and Convener of the 1st Reunion Implementation Committee Hasan Rohan Rashid inaugurated the main event by hoisting the national anthem and the flag by flying balloons and the banner of the 1st Reunion. Before this, the Quran and Gita are recited. Later, the president of the governing body of the college and the former chairman of the chemistry department of Jahangirangan University Prof. Dr. Elias Molla gave the opening speech. Principal Md. Tauhid Hossain gave welcome speech and Hasan Rohan Rashid, Convener of 1st Reunion Committee, gave greeting speech. Later, former students and teachers coming from the country and abroad commemorated.

A total of 28 batch (1998 to 2025) alumni participated in the 1st Reunion of Savar Model College established in 1996. At this time, they reminisced about their college life, chatted with friends and indulged in various activities.

Under the chairmanship of Md. Tauhid Hossain, the honored principal of the best college of Dhaka district, Manarat International University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Mohammad Abdur Rab spoke as the chief guest at the reunion. Dhaka Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board Chairman Professor Dr. Khandokar Ehsanul Kabir was present as the main discussant.

Jahangirnagar University Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Education) Prof Dr. was present as a special guestM Mahfuzur Rahman, Jahangirnagar University Central Student Union VP Abdur Rashid Jitu, Savar UNO Md Saiful Islam, Jahangirnagar University Central Student Union GS Mazharul Islam. Artist Obaidullah Tarek's solo cultural performance on the occasion. A cultural program was held in the evening.
